Parents

We welcome parents as partners in the enterprise of educating children. We expect that parents will support their children's learning, and will do so in consultation with us. We are always glad to see parents in school, both formally and informally. There is a full and detailed written report each year for every child and a chance to see your child's work each term during come and see afternoons.

Money

If at any time you are sending money into school please put it in an envelope with your child's name and class written clearly on it, how much money is in there and what it is for. Then give to Mrs Ansell in the office or your child's class teacher.

Eco-Schools

We are very proud to have now been awarded our Eco Schools Bronze Award. To achieve this award members of the school council conducted an environmental review of our school. From this we created an action plan to reduce our energy costs and improve our re-cycling. This will help us all work towards a greener and more Eco friendly school.

Our Redwell Eco Code is;

PRIDE

P—rotect our planet

R euse, reduce, recycle

I can make a difference

D oing the right thing

E co friendly Redwell

This code is being displayed and promoted around the school. Well done and special thanks to Mrs Westley, Mrs Adams and Miss Lowe and the children for all their hard work on this project.

Attendance

Congratulations to the children who achieved 100% attendance last term. Every school has to monitor attendance and we have chosen to look at termly as well as yearly attendance. As many of you are aware we share attendance figures with the children in every Celebration Assembly. Generally our attendance is very good. Our target from the County Council is 95% and we normally achieve this. Obviously there are times when it is impossible for children to come to school. If they are poorly we would much rather them recuperate fully before they return to school. We will be notifying you if your child's attendance falls below 90%, and we will then work with you to support raising your child's attendance wherever possible.  If your child's attendance is good they are contributing to their class, as in celebration assembly the class with the best attendance wins a trophy and certificate for the week.

Mornings

It is lovely to see so many of you reading with your children on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. With the bad weather coming can I take this opportunity to remind Year 1 and 2 parents that on bad weather days the covered area will be open to come into the school building. Teachers will display a sign in their windows to let you know when the doors are open. We continue to ask Year 1 & 2 children to come in on their own on Thursday and Friday.
