Situated on the northern edge of Wellingborough, Redwell Infant School enjoys excellent facilities including three playgrounds and a large field. The school is semi-open plan and was built in 1977 as a Primary School. It became an Infant School in 1986 when Redwell Junior School was opened. The two schools work   co-operatively to provide continuity of education for the children.

There are usually 180 pupils in the school, organised into six classes. Two of the classes are for Reception children who join us the September after their fourth birthday. Reception children attend on a part-time basis in September and October, when most children come full-time. Reception children are in the final year of the Foundation Stage, and follow the Foundation Stage curriculum. Year 1 and Year 2 children are in Key Stage 1 and follow the National Curriculum.

Across the school, the curriculum we follow is rich and interesting. It emphasises important skills in language and mathematics and encourages the development of the "whole" child through a wide range of stimulating and lively activities.

We value individual strengths in children and staff support where necessary. We set ourselves challenging but achievable goals in the pursuit of excellence.

We welcome parents as partners in the enterprise of educating children. We expect that parents will support their children's learning, and will do so in consultation with us. We are always glad to see parents in school, both formally and informally. There is a full written report each year for every child and we offer an opportunity to see your child's work each term.

The Governors are supportive, caring and work hard for the school. Children, parents and staff respect each other, and the atmosphere in our school is friendly, relaxed and purposeful. All parents are automatically members of Redwell Support Group (RSG) and a core group of parents and staff work hard to support the school in a variety of ways.

Redwell Infant School is a happy place, which provides an excellent education within a caring and supportive environment.
